CLASSIC PRO RODEO HEADING INTO TOWN
The
Fort Bend County Fair will be hosting a PRCA Rodeo September 30th and
October 1st. This year we are proud to welcome a stock contractor, Classic
Pro Rodeo back for a second year. This is definitely not their first rodeo!
Scotty Lovelace has won Stock Contractor of the Year as well as having stock
qualify for the National Final Rodeo in Vegas for numerous years.
Classic Pro Rodeo features the latest innovations while maintaining the
“Spirit of the Old West”. Their goal is to produce a high energy event that
will entertain all ages. Professional Cowboys and Cowgirls will be competing
in seven breath-taking events ---- Bull Riding, Bareback Riding, Saddle
Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Calf Roping, Team Roping and Barrel Racing.
Amanda Paine of One Arm Bandit and Gizmo will be ready to entertain the
crowds as well and according to stock producer Scotty Lovelace, “From the
crack of the first latch until the dust settles, we will keep you on the
edge of your seat with the finest livestock in the world”.
Brad Bowman, Director in Charge of the PRCA Rodeo stated that the rodeo
committee has been working hard to bring one of the best rodeos to our
event. Bowman said, “We are thrilled to have Classic Pro Rodeo as this
year’s stock contractor. Scotty has some of the best bucking stock and one
of the most entertaining rodeos on the National Circuit. Rodeo Committee
Chairman John Hendrick commented “I am extremely excited about the size of
the rodeo this year! Our rough stock events are larger than we have had in
recent memory. Our timed events are up as well. It is definitely the largest
Professional Rodeo we have ever had! The entertainment during the rodeo is
second to none. Definitely a must to attend for fair and rodeo fans alike!”
Rodeo fans are sure to be on the edge of their seats when Troy Lerwill aka
The Wild Child hits the arena with his funny motorcycle antics. Don’t be
surprised if he flies through the air on his dirt bike over his truck and
trailer.
In addition to the PRCA Rodeo, there will be a calf scramble and mutton
bustin’ for the little wranglers. The Fort Bend County Fair in conjunction
with the PRCA is asking the rodeo contestants and fans to show they are
“Tough Enough to Wear Pink” and wear a pink shirt on Saturday, October 1st
in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. A special presentation will be
made to the American Cancer Society from the Fort Bend County Fair
Association prior to the performance. Due to the popularity of the Bull
Riding and Mutton Bustin’, we have extended the rodeo action one more day.
On Sunday, October 2nd rodeo fans will be treated to a matinee performance
of PRCA Bull Riding and Mutton Bustin’.
This is definitely one event you don’t want to miss at the 75th Annual Fort
Bend County Fair. PRCA Rodeo action, Friday, September 30th and Saturday,
October 1st at 7:30 pm in the O.D. Tucker Arena and don’t forget about the
Sunday, October 2nd at 2:00 pm with the PRCA Bull Bash and Mutton Bustin’.
