What It Takes to Win the Crown

The Fort Bend County Fair Queen Contest is for females between the ages of 15 and 19 years who are residents of Fort Bend County. The competition runs August 10 – September 26, 2008 and is based on ticket sales, interview and style show performance. Winners receive scholarships and prizes for their efforts, as well as the opportunity to serve as a community ambassador for the Fort Bend County Fair for the coming year.

Commission
Additionally, contestants receive 10-20% commission on their ticket sales:

15% $5,000 to $19,999.99
20% Equal to and Exceeding $20,000

Registration ends August 10, 2008. Registration forms may be obtained at the Fort Bend County Fair office or by clicking here:

Eligibility
Contestants must:
• Be a Fort Bend County resident
• Be a female student between the ages of 15 and 19 years
• Be unmarried and never been married
• Participate in the Fort Bend County Fair Style Show
• Participate in an interview with a panel of judges
• Ride on a float or in a vehicle at the Fair Parade
• Sell a minimum of $5,000 of pre-Fair tickets to be eligible for the Queen Contest Finals

Mandatory Meeting
Contestants are required to attend a mandatory meeting and should be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Contestants can register at the meeting to participate in the 2008 competition.
• Sunday, August 10, 2008 at 2:00 pm
• Safari Texas Ranch, 11627 FM 1464, Richmond, Texas

Scholarships
Contestants selling the minimum $5,000 requirement in pre-Fair ticket sales are eligible to receive a Queen or Runner-Up scholarship. The Marketing Winner must sell a minimum of $7,500 in pre-Fair ticket sales to be eligible to be the Marketing Winner.
