Auction contest winners announced

The 2009 Fort Bend County Fair School Art Auction Grand
Champion is “The Heart of Texas,” by Seven Lakes High School
student Renee Znan.
That drawing and 15 other art pieces will be up for bid at
the auction at 4 p.m. Sunday in Building D, but students
must arrive no later than 3:15 p.m..
“Trail Boss,” a painting by Foster High School student
Kristina Krampitz, was named reserve champion.
Best of Class entries are: “Break in the Action,” a colored
drawing by Katy High School student Jennifer Vitek; “Sweet
Repose,” a mixed medium work by Foster student Micaela
Aguirre; “Wannabe Rockstar,” a monochromatic by Austin High
School student Paige Linecum; and “Aged Native Woman,” a
sculpture by Seven Lakes High School student Lana Redman.
Auction lot numbers are randomly assigned to remaining
artwork chosen for the auction.
The entries are: “Midday Meeting,” a colored drawing by
Foster student Christy Beltz; “Honey I’m Home,” a
monochromatic by Foster student D’Andre Holmes; “Saddle Up,”
a colored drawing by Seven Lakes student Nadya Repina;
“Roping,” a colored drawing by Seven Lakes student Alexandra
Rebeck; “Wild Thing,” a sculpture by Foster student Lindsay
Cates; “Learning the Ropes,” a colored drawing by Seven
Lakes student Gavin Chin; “Feed Me,” a colored drawing by
Seven Lakes student Linda Xie; “Cock-A-Doodle-Do,” a mixed
medium work by Seven Lakes student Janice Shang; “All Penned
Up,” a colored drawing by Seven Lakes student Jing Yi Wang;
and “Daniel,” a colored drawing by Seven Lakes student
Rachel Richter.
Their artwork will be displayed at the Exhibition for
Students and Parents from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday in
Building D. Judging took place Sept. 18.
Ninety-four percent of the proceeds from the auction go
directly to the artists. Checks will be mailed within six
weeks.
